I listen to this song often, reminds me of my twin brother that was taken too early, we shared many sunrises. I miss him greatly. We both loved music, and I turned him on to techno/ dance/edm, what ever you want to call it. We all find a meaning or relation to music, and this is my brother. Rest In Peace James.

I remember the first time I heard this song. I'm Canadian, but I was then living in The Netherlands for a few months, and on this day I had gone on a trip to Rotterdam for the day. In the train station I saw this album and picked it up and put it on on the way back to where I lived. It was such a gorgeous moment when this song came on and the train was going through some beautiful forested areas. I'll always remember that!

I listen to this very often. My oldest son introduced me to Orbital in the year 2000 after my youngest son, his brother passed away. The year 2005, my oldest son passed away. My only children. I listen to this, tears almost every time and yet I am filled with love and warmth. Thanks Lisa G. and thanks Orbital. Amazing, beautiful. Life saving and life giving.

This album got me through one of my greatest depressions I've ever had, in summer 2004 when it was released.
I had no history of depression, but for some reason that summer hit me so hard, for a variety of reasons. I felt I had no future, the feeling you have when you realize you haven't really accomplished anything. That you are just another rat in the great hamster wheel, and that nothing great was ever gonna happen to me.
The weather that summer was also the worst I remember. The whole summer, including my vacation rained away. And all I had to go back to was my shitty job, a place full I people concerned with shallow, shitty things while thinking they're changing the world.
Nowdays... I'm fine. Great things did happen. :)

This track goes straight to the heart & spirit. This vid & song got me thru the most dark, bleak, nuclear winter of depression and near suicide after losing my son.... Things do get better. You WILL find peace but you must do so with no excuses and no blame-> it's on you and you alone. Love & forgiveness of self & others is the only way. Never give up.

There's just something about this song that never fails to trigger that sense of melancholy nostalgia for this nondescript thing you've never had. Or just absolute perfection if you're drunk, riding in a car with a best friend listening.

Being is not only beyond but also deep within.

This is such a good example of synchronisation of the pace of the film to the tempo of the music. A wonderful video to accompany probably my favourite piece of music of all time. I’ve been listening to Orbital since the early 90s when most kids at my school hadn’t heard of them. I thought I’d listened to all of their best tunes until this came along in 2004 and blew me away. One of the comments below says this is the definition of sublime - I couldn’t have put it better myself.

  • @barrymcevoy-spiritualsense6593

Beautiful..... simply mesmerising.... the images.... the sunrise as backdrop to a heart moving tune. I heard orbital in Ireland play in 2004 missing their 90's time completely... needless to say I was blown away then by the impact of their music struck again by their power just now. Away to find an album from orbital!!

The most endearing thing about Orbital is the fact that their music completely ignores fashion. Their sounds are the same they used in 1994 but it makes no difference, it's all in the composition.
I would recommend a listen to Reuben Halsey's remix though, as it shows how a remix can add a new dimension to a track.

Amazing song and the video goes so well with it. I actually watched this about 14 years ago and had "liked" it too. I was searching through some Orbital songs and found this again. I paid closer attention to the route which this video takes. I can see it started at the Yoga Toll Booth and followed it along towards Shibuya, but I can't help wondering why Shibuya is cut out of the video, because it's one of the more interesting areas. Perhaps the tall buildings made the video too dark? Then it picks up again around the Tokyo Saiseikai Central Hospital, missing out that whole section past the Mori Tower and the TV Tokyo Corporation skyscraper. It's easy to follow up to Rainbow Bridge, where the video cuts off again and resumes just a tiny bit down the road. Then lastly it passes under the Tokyoko Tunnel and then ends. I have been to Tokyo, but never drove in Japan at all. I used the trains everywhere in that amazing country.

This song gets played annually when I’m watching the 24 hours of LeMans. Something about daybreak gives hope to the grueling nature of a 24 hour endurance race, and this song captures that perfectly.
I do listen to this on the regular too. Still. Years after its release. ❤️

This song reminds me of a time in my life when I was back in Australia for a couple of months between o/s adventures, and working in a cr***y office job to save up cash. Walking back to my parents' house across the Park Lands, long shadows of towering gums on a beautiful summer evening in Australia, knowing I'd be leaving it again in a few weeks. For me, this song encapsulates that beautiful 'flight from responsibility' that was the theme of my 20s. I miss that feeling so much.
